TPS65987D: Enabling the PP_HV1 Rail to sink 5V

Part Number: TPS65987D

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

We are using PD controller chip with MPN: TPS65987DDHRSHR and using this we able to use the this chip in GPIO mode and able to control the GPIO's and route the DP lines and get the display over typeC.

So I would need your help in enabling PP_HV1 rail to sink 5V from the docking TypeC then current firmware which we are using does not sink 5V from the external tablet which is connected over typeC.

Below is the project file attached could you please tell me how to enable the 5V in PP_HV1 rail?

  • Hi Shwetha,

In your pjt, configure PP1 to support acting as a sink, either choosing sink only or sink and source. Make sure no other power paths are set as sink. This should ensure that when sinking 5V, you will sink through PPHV1

    Thanks and Regards,
