TPS65987DDKEVM: Unable to flash the EVM

Part Number: TPS65987DDKEVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

I was trying to flash the TPS65987DDKEVM with a new configuration, but I get the following error :

If I try to Configure I2C/SPI Adapter Settings from the "Adapter" menu. I get the following error. On closing this, the Adapter settings dialogue box opens up but the I2C sweep fails.

I also tried to flash the recovery software, but I get this error. I have tried with all 3 of the recovery images in below image.

Please help with what the issue could be suggest ways to rectify.

Thanks
Shwetanshu

  • Hi Shwetanshu,

It looks like you have the wrong adapter selected. The TPS65987DDKEVM uses a TIVA chip as the USB interface, not the FTDI.

To change the interface, first power the EVM and connect it over USB to your PC.

Then, open the GUI and select Adapter -> Configure Adapter Settings.

You can ignore the error message regarding the FTDI chip missing.

In the next window, select the Adapter as TIVA.

You'll know it has connected if you see a TIVA connected message or something similar to the section circled in blue below.

To confirm it works, select "Sweep I2C address range for device response" and hit start.

You should see some addresses appear. They may not match the ones in the picture exactly, but you should at least see some values.

If this works, you can click OK to close the window, and the next time you flash it should automatically use the TIVA to program.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris
