TPS25730: 20V at VBUS

Hi expert,

Before starting to negotiation, if user connect 20V source directly to VBUS then.

 - Does PPHV work to provide 20V to out? or blocking this?

 - Why?

    Hi Yamashita-san,

    No the TPS25730 will not close the power path to PPHV. If 20-V is connected not following the PD spec, we will see it as an OVP.

    We expect certain voltages on the initial connection (0-V or 5-V) per the Type-C and PD spec. If we don't see these, we will not proceed with the connection.
