TPS1210-Q1: Tcharge in Calculator Tool

Part Number: TPS1210-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

We are concerned there could be a SOA limit exceeded in our design.

With TI's calculator too there is a Tcharge value that is set by the user. Is this the timing that the DFET will be in the linear region?

Then the calculator calculates the anticipated inrush current, will this value be the peak current throughout that linear region?

When reviewing the SOA, when I use that Tcharge time and that anticipated inrush current value from the calculator it gets very close to the limit at max input voltage. I think it would be good to make sure that that would be the proper way to analyze the SOA for this one.

Thank you, Keith
