TPS25751: ‘SRYR’ – SRDY reset command equivalent to turn off input switch

Part Number: TPS25751
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65982

Tool/software:

In our system that is primarily sinking USB power, we would like to turn off input power once the battery has finished charging, so we can minimize power consumption. In previous designs this was done using the SRYR command which did exactly what we needed, but this command is not documented in the TPS25751 technical reference. Is this command still supported, or is there a command that provides equivalent functionality?

  • Hi Jerry,

Which device did you use previously with SRYR command?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Raymond Lin

  • It was the TPS65992 most recently, but we've also used TPS65982.

Another point I should mention -- we need this command to also do the equivalent of setting the dead battery flag, because as part of turning off the input switch, the system will be shutting off power and we need the tps to be powered off of vbus again, other wise it will lose power (and immediately be powered back on by vbus but lose the state from SRYR).

This is the power off sequence on our system when connected to USB. The system will initiate this when finished charging, for example

    - Host will issue SRYR, turning off the USB input switch
    - Host will power off the battery, turning off all system power
    - The usb connector will remain plugged in but very little power will be drawn. The system will remain off until turned on again.

  • Hi Jerry,

Let me check with the team and get back to you on this by tomorrow.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Jerry,

I sent you a message offline, let's follow through on e2e messaging.
