Tool/software:
hi
I am going through a learning cycle on the BQ34Z100-R2 using bqStudio and EV2400.
The battery pack I am using is Samsung's INR21700 4900mA lithium-ion battery, and the pack configuration is 7S1P.
I changed the ChemID from 107 to 2591 to match the battery cell I was using.
And I am referring to TI's SLUA925 application report.
In "2.3 Data Flash Configuration Settings Pertinent to Learning Cycle Completion" of the SLUA925 application report,
it is stated that "These parameters are Design Capacity, Design Voltage, ChargeTerm Taper Current, Dsg Current Threshold, Chg Current Threshold, Quit Current, and Term Voltage" must be configured.
Design Capacity mAh and Design Capacity cWh, as listed in "2.3.1 Design Capacity", were set to 4900 and Design Energy to 49 in Data Memory->Configuration->Data of bqStudio.
However, the Design Voltage formula is "Design Voltage = (number of series cells) x average cell voltage."
In my case, I'm using 7 cells connected in series, so 7 cells x 3.6V = 25,200mV.
However, in the BQ34Z100-R2 Technical Reference Manual, the range of Design Voltage is shown as shown in the figure below.
The maximum value is stated as 5000mV, which is less than 25200mV.
What should the Design Voltage be set to?
Another question is, in 3.Learning Cycle for Li-ion Batteries->Learning Cycle Procedure->Discharge Battery to Empty of the SLUA925 application report, does the RDIS flag mean RUP_DIS?
And it says "disable resistance updates during this initial discharge cycle", but how do I disable resistance updates?
Also, in "Discharge the battery until the voltage at the top of the stack reaches the Term Voltage.", does Term Voltage mean Data Memory->Gas Gauging->IT Cfg->Cell Terminate Voltage?
If Cell Terminate Voltage is correct, what value should I set it to for 7S?
Finally, how can I disable IT?
