LEDMCUEVM-132: USB ACCtrl and ACCtrl console is not detect.

Part Number: LEDMCUEVM-132
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, MSP432E401Y, TPS92664EVM-216

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I’m using LEDMCUEVM-132 for my project. The very first time I connected the LEDMCUEVM-132 to my system, ACCtrl and ACCtrl Console were detected and also appeared in Device Manager.

After that, I wanted to flash the demo code to the board. So, I connected the XDS110 debugger and flashed the demo code using UniFlash. However, after flashing the demo code, the ACCtrl and ACCtrl Console ports are no longer detected by my system.

I have attached an image for reference. Both the XDS110 debugger and LEDMCUEVM-132 were connected when the screenshot was taken.

Regards,

Miit Prajapati.

  • Hello Miit,

We have noticed some company administrators have network protection blocking USB. Are you able to verify this is not the case? I would also check if the LEDMCU is receiving proper power from USB.

    Thread on this issue: e2e.ti.com/.../ledmcuevm-132-ledmcuevm-132

Were the .NET framework and XDS driver installations successful prior to the UniFlash steps? What demo code are you configuring to the device and which LED driver EVM is being used?

Please let me know what you find.

    Best,
    Isaiah

  • What is the code that you flashed?

  • Hello Isaiah,

    Thanks for replying.

    1. We have noticed some company administrators have network protection blocking USB. Are you able to verify this is not the case? I would also check if the LEDMCU is receiving proper power from USB.
I have removed the administrator blockage of USB on my system. I also checked the power supply on the board using the test points. I measured 3.3V between TP6 and GND, and 1.2V between VDDC and GND, which confirms that the board is receiving proper power from USB.

    2. Were the .NET framework and XDS driver installations successful prior to the UniFlash steps? What demo code are you configuring to the device and which LED driver EVM is being used?
Yes, the installation of both the .NET framework and the XDS drivers was successful before using UniFlash.

      Here's the procedure I followed:

      • Connected the XDS110 debugger to the LEDMCUEVM-132 using the 10-pin connector on the board.

      • Connected the XDS110 to my system. In UniFlash, the XDS110 debugger was detected automatically.

      • Selected the device MSP432E401Y.

      • I used the Timerled demo code from the SDK simplelink_msp432e4_sdk_4_20_00_12, imported it into Code Composer Studio (CCS), built it, and flashed it to the board.

I'm using the TPS92664EVM-216 as the LED driver EVM.
However, I haven't connected all three boards yet. I am first verifying the LEDMCUEVM-132 board individually by flashing the Timerled demo code. The code works, but after flashing, the ACCtrl and ACCtrl Console ports no longer appear on my system.

    3. I also eraser the flashed code from LEDMCUEVM-132 and try to connect LEDMCUEVM-132 board to my system. After that firmware upgrade is appear for your reference image is also attached.

    Regards,

    Miit Prajapati.

  • You flashed firmware meant for the MSP432E401Y Launchpad. This is not correct. Our EVM LEDMCUEVM-132 board ships with its own firmware already installed with no need to flash at all. In order to use the 664 EVM you will need re-install the correct firmware. Did you back up the original firmware before you flashed the MSP432?

  • Hello Lee,

No, I did not back up the original firmware.

Could you please share the correct firmware file or provide a download link for it? Also, I would appreciate it if you could share the steps to install or flash the firmware onto the LEDMCUEVM-132 board.

If I want to flash my own custom code to the LEDMCUEVM-132 board, could you please let me know the proper steps to follow? Additionally, is there a specific SDK recommended or required for developing applications for the LEDMCUEVM-132 board?

    Best regards,

    Miit Prajapati

  • Hello Miit,

We will contact you over email and provide a temporary link for downloading the firmware.

    Best,
    Isaiah

  • I have contacted Miit through email with the instructions required to get his board working once more.
