We are working on a PD controller design with LM51772 and want to support PPS. The target is to support VIN ~20-24V and output of 5-21V@5A of PD SPR, and up to 48V5A for EPR.
The PPS contains the tests similar as checking the load current/voltage when running in cc mode.
For example, when we set output @5V and adjust electrical load in CR mode and set current limit @ 1A. By keeping decrease the "R" (equavalently increase the load current), the output V/I get osillations on it. Refer to below waveform captures. Seems to me the CC mode control and CV mode control loop has some conflict.
This is the schematic we are using. We set 0xD9[5] to 0 to enable DAC current limit setting if I understand it correct.
Would you please suggest if anything I missed and or if for example the compensation circuit need to be adjusted?
The target is to test with load current clamp at 1A/3A/5A cases with similar condition and check the output voltage of 5-21V.
