Tool/software:
Hi folks,
I'm designing a control PCBA to control an ATE system which will program and test one of our products. Part of the requirement is to test with low current (250mA) initially so more damage isn't caused to the device under test in the event of a short or other catastrophic fault.
So I've selected the TPS16413DRCR as my device to limit the current, I'm just about done with this bit of the design when I noticed in the data sheet the possibility of monitoring the output current at IMON using a voltage to represent the current being drawn.
Datasheet: www.ti.com/.../tps1641
Firstly there looks like there is a typo in the datasheet . . . Section 8.3.8 "The device allows the system to monitor the output load current accurately by providing an analog current on the
IOCP/IMON pin, " doesn't it mean " providing an analog voltage . . . " I assume so as the following formula has Viocp not Iiocp
Equation 7.
My main issue is that I'm not sure what units I should be using for these values . . .
Gimon = typ 50uA/A do I use 50 or 0.00005 ? or is it 50uA/Iout ?
Riocp = in my application is 32.949k do I use 32.949 or 32949 (I assume the latter)
OSimon = typ 0.05 uA do I use 0.05 or 0.00000005 ?
Iout I assume this will be in A not mA ?
Viocp I assume will be in V not mV ?
I could do with a little help . . .
thanks, Simon G
