TPS4816-Q1: INP_G and INP pins separately control solution

Hi expert,

My customer CosMX want to use INP_G and INP to control two different load separately. But we noticed that the I2T protection and Short circuit protection only for the main path. How can we realize the I2T and short circuit protection for both path (main path and bypass path)? 

Besides, what's the TPS4816-Q1 operation if LOAD WAKEUP COMPARATOR is triggered? Turn off bypass FET? If this LOAD WAKEUP COMPARATOR can be used as short circuit protection of bypass path? Thanks.

    Hi Ryker,

    The low power path can't utilize the I2T protection of the device however the short circuit protection of the low power path can be used to protect your load. It is non configurable so if your load would want to be protected at a lower current then that would not be an option.

    Another issue is that if either load trips the over current protection of the device you will see both power paths shut off until the problem is solved.
