Hi Team,

I am using TPS65987DDHRSHR part in my design and came to know that will be obsolete in some time. As a replacement I have checked few IC like TPS25751DREFR &

TPS26750SRSMR, but in the above 2 IC's I could see configurable GPIO option but I need a dedicated SPI pins in those GPIO options as it is in TPS65987DDHRSHR. I need to introduce a SPI interface along with USB PD controller.

Could you suggest me how to introduce SPI interface in TPS25751DREFR & TPS26750SRSMR device? Any supporting documents explaining same would be helpful.

The TPS25751 has an I2C controller interface to write to and read from external EEPROM memory.

Also, please see TI's EOL policy here in regards to the TPS65987.

Could you suggest me how to introduce SPI interface in TPS25751DREFR & TPS26750SRSMR device? Any supporting documents explaining same would be helpful.

Hi Aswini,

SPI interface is not supported with the TPS25751 and TPS26750 PD controllers.

Hi Aswini,

Could you elaborate on the design? Is this a displayport application?

Also could you elaborate on the need for a SPI? Our newer PD controller do not have a SPI interface.

yes, it is for display port application.

Do we have any direct alternatives for TPS65987DDHRSHR?

Also please suggest how to configure TPS25751DREFR & TPS26750SRSMR chips, for ex TPS65987DDHRSHR has below doc for configuration likewise do we have any for TPS25751DREFR & TPS26750SRSMR.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to configure these GPIOs as SPI ports.

The TPS25751 and TPS26750 do not support DisplayPort. We currently do not have a direct replacement for the TPS65987 in our portfolio at this time. Please reach out to your local Sales team for more information.

Please refer to Section 3 Software in the EVM User's Guide for steps on how to configure the devices using the GUI Tool.

Hi Aswini,

The TPS65987DDK is the latest equivalent to the TPS65987DDH. Both of these parts are not recommended for new designs as they are not PD3.2 compliant.
