I'm currently looking into using the BQ25798 for a product I'm designing. I would like to use LiFePo4 batteries for their increased charging cycles and safety compared to Li-Ion or Li-Po batteries.
I am aware that this would require modifying the REG01_Charge_Voltage_Limit over I²C to set the correct charge termination voltage.
To do this safely and correctly, I would like to know when this register is cleared, besides resetting the chip, so that we can implement the correct software to set this to the correct value once again. From what I read from This e2e thread, the registers are cleared when the charger and the battery are disconnected, or if the charger is disconnected and the battery is empty. Could you please confirm this?
In addition, at what battery voltage does this resetting occur?
Lastly, from what I could see, the charger does not seem to implement an under voltage protection. Could you please confirm that this is to be added separately?
