TPS2H160-Q1: Device "lock" in low state output

Part Number: TPS2H160-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,
we encountered an issue with this component. As shown in the picture below, the output sometimes fails to follow the input signal. This behavior also occurs during normal operation, but to reproduce the issue more easily, I rapidly toggle the input. In this case, the output remains stuck low.
According to the functional diagram, the transition from low to high should occur in any case.

Any suggestion? I'll attach the image from the scope (blue line input from microcontroller, yellow line 24V output), and the schematic. During this experiment we had no load on output. ST1 and ST2 remain high (no error)

  • Hello,

I have a couple questions from the application above.

Is this behavior happening on both channels or only on a single channel?

Can this be tested with a load and the functionality confirmed?

I cant see the waveform details how fast is this enable pulse?

    BR,

    Alan

  • Hi, the issue happen on both channel, and it's also present with a load. The pulse in this picture is ~200ms (the oscilloscope setting is 400ms per division). It seems that the board that I'm using is different from the schematic, the resistor on the CL pin is connected to GND and not on the device GND (pin 8). Changing this connection it seems that the problem occurs much less frequently, but it's still present, I'm still investigating.

  • Hey,

When the GND network is removed completely is the behavior still present?

    BR,

    Alan
