Hi Shunsuke,
For power dissipation, please use P = I^2 x RON. Also, consider the switching losses during turn on and turn off.
Please see section 2.4.1 Power Dissipation Calculation in the following application note - How To Drive Resistive, Inductive, Capacitive, and Lighting Loads (Rev. E).

Hi Rishika,
Thank you for the reply. May I know the INOM on the datasheet? I am not asking how to calculate the power dissipation.
Do you mean users can ignore the calculation of Vs x INOM? If so, please kindly fix the datasheet. Users will misunderstand the calculation of the power dissipation.
Best regards,
Shunsuke Yamamoto
Hi Yamamoto-san,
Yes, please ignore the VS x IMON term. However, please consider the switching losses as shown above.
Thanks,
Rishika Patel
Hi Rishika,
Thank you for the reply.
1. May I know the INOM on the datasheet?
2. Could you please kindly consider fixing the datasheet?
3. Could you please let me know the equation of switching loss?
Best regards,
Shunsuke Yamamoto
Hi Yamamoto-san,
1. INOM is the typical load current for your system.
2. Yes, we will consider this, sorry for the confusion.
3. Since EON/EOFF are not specified in the datasheet, please use the following equations from section 2 Device Thermals in the Driving PWM Loads with TI High-Side Switches application note.
Thanks,
