Hi TI Team,
Could you please confirm the LP2980AIM5-5.0/NOPB whether the method we used is correct or do they have any suggestions?
The following information is for your reference.
- Product: 9021545,
- Defect information: U3 U6 no output(Good parts should have 5V output)
- Customer failure rate: 30%
- Vario stock: 540pcs, did not find any good ones after random sorting 60pcs
The experiments we did it today with voltage 7.60V:
- Remove D1, D2 à Pin5 of U3 no output
- Remove U4, U5 à Pin5 of U3 no output
- Try to unsolder pin5 of U3 on the PCBA, then do the measurement à Pin5 of U3 no output
- U3 raw material verification: Solder U3 to bare PCB à applied voltage 7.60V to pin3 à can measure 7.60V at pin1, but cannot get any output when measure pin5
