Tool/software:
The internet states that the maximum capacity of the bq40z50-r2 is 65Ah.
However, the Design Capacity setting is set to a maximum of 32,767mAh.
Is this incorrect? Please see the photo below.

Hello,
This question has been assigned and will be reviewed when possible.
Thank you,

Hello Bonggeun,
The max desing capacity of the gauge is documented in the Technical Reference Manual with 65Ah.
A lot of time customer wish to use higher design capacities, so the gauge can be scaled to fit such currents at the cost of resolution.
Are you planning to use a battery pack greater than 32Ah?

Hello.
If I use a 60Ah battery, I need to set the "Design Capacity" to 60,000mAh, but it only allows up to 32,767mAh. What should I do?
Should I lower the value by half to 30,000mAh?
Ultimately, we need to use 98Ah, so I was planning to lower the value by half to 49,000mAh and use it after completing the IC selection.
However, should I lower the value by 1/3 instead of 1/2 scale, to 32,667mA (98/3)?
