Tool/software:
In the BQ25570 datasheet, the section on Boost Charger Inductor Selection states:
“The inductor must have a peak current capability of > 300 mA with a low series resistance (DCR) to maintain high efficiency.”
In my application, the energy harvester supplies only a few milliamps, and the load current is also in the low mA range.
Given this, how critical is the "> 300 mA peak current capability" guideline?
Can I safely use a smaller inductor, such as the Murata MLZ2012N220LT000 (22 µH, 300 mA rated current, DCR = 670 mΩ, size = 0805), for space savings?
