BQ25601: Maximum battery Capacity that could be supported?

Part Number: BQ25601
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25638

Tool/software:

Dear team,

Currently we are using the part BQ25601RTWR in our design and we would like to know what is the maximum battery capacity that can be used with this part, the capacity we plan to use is 5000mAh and 10000mAh, both would have a maximum charging current of up to 0.5C (2500mA for the 5000mAh battery and 5000mA for the 10000mAh battery). Kindly let us know if this IC could support this requirement or would we need to add any additional circuit. Also, the maximum discharge from the battery would be 0.1C to 0.2C.

Regards,

Aagneya C

  • Hi Aagneya,

The max charge current for this IC is 3000mA and the max discharge current is 6000mA. There is not strictly a battery maximum capacity, just a max charge and max discharge current. Please look at BQ25638 for 5000mA charge current and 7000mA continuous max discharge current.

    Regards,

    Mike Emanuel
