TPS25961: IN pin internal resistance

Part Number: TPS25961

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

The block diagram of TPS25961 is copied below. I noticed that there are two series resistors at the input pin. Do you know what the resistor value range are? Mohm? Kohm?

The input impedance is quite important in our application, as there will be other components shunt in parallel with this pin

Regards,

Roy

  • Hi Roy,

I don't have exact value of these resistors. I also expect them to be in high kOhms range. Are exact values needed for your application? In the usecase, I expect EN and OVLO pins to have a resistive divider which will most likely dominate over this resistive divider.

  • Hi Arush,

We prefer the resistor value at the mega ohm range, so that it will have much less impact on other shunt components.

Our application is shown in the block diagram below. The OVP is what we are looking for, and there will a adjustable resistor shunt in paraller with the OVP.

There are two functions on the VDD, and they will not operate simultanously. Function 1 needs to limit VDD lower than around 6V, and Function 2 drives a small current go throught the adjustable resistor(kohm). The reason we care about the OVP input resistor is that it can affect the working range of adjustable resistor.

Do you think that the part is ok to use?

    Regards,

    Roy

  • Hi Roy,

I checked with the design team on this. This is around 2.5MegOhms resistor so won't affect the customer use case.

    Best regards,
    Arush
