LM3481: R30 and R36 connection in the Reference Design of TIDA-01592

Part Number: LM3481
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01592

Tool/software:

Hello,

On Page 11 of TIDA-01592 (TIDUDS2-February 2018), R30 and R36 were covered by the red cross.  What was the reason(s) for not connecting R30, C22 and R36, C31?

Best,

Mark

  • Hi Mark,

Thanks for using the e2e forum.
A red cross in the schematic means the component is not populated.
By removing R30 and R36, you 'disable' the snubber circuit. This increases efficiency, but also increases potential switch node overshoots and ringing.
Depending on design requirements, the snubber can be added or removed.

There were more questions on this snubber in the past.
