LV5144: Operating current detail required

Part Number: LV5144
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM70860

Tool/software:

Hello TI team,

We are currently using the LV5144RGYR switching regulator for converting 48V to 5V. I reviewed the datasheet and found the operating current specification, but it appears to be under non-switching conditions. I would like to know the operating current during actual switching operation.

regards,

Loganathan. R

  • Hi Loganathan,

Just add the VCC gate drive current (=Qg*Fsw for each FET) to the 2mA quiescent current spec. Take the Qg for each FET at the VCC level (7.5V).

PS: we have converters that can do 6A (much easier implementation). Take a look at the LM70860 80V/6A converter for example
