Hi Anna,

TPS25983 is also an eFuse. The primary way TI classify them is integration of power FET in the device. Hot-swaps are controller device and eFuse is fully integrated device.

Note: TPS25983 have capability to drive BFET to introduce Reverse current blocking capabilities but that is not required in all application and it have its main power FET integrated in it.

If customer want more control on FET or in some scenarios when none of our eFuse parts fit the operating conditions. Also eFuse are non-automotive parts used primarily in PE or enterprise applications.

Also, eFuse and hot-swaps are many times used interchangeably in overall industry. TI uses above definition but not all competitors use the same.
