TPS74701-Q1: TPS74701QDRCRQ1

Part Number: TPS74701-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS74701

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am simulating the TPS74701 LDO in PSpice and noticed that the soft-start (SS) pin voltage initially rises to approximately 39.63 V. According to the datasheet, the SS pin should typically operate around 6 V, so this seems much higher.

I would like to confirm:

Does this simulated SS pin voltage pose any risk of damaging the IC in an actual hardware implementation?

For reference, I am using C_SS = 1 nF in the simulation, as suggested in the datasheet.

Any guidance or clarification from TI engineers or experienced users would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Anusree,

The simulation model for the TPS74701 does not limit the voltage on the SS pin in the same way the actual device would - this voltage will not match the actual device behavior.
