Here is the recommended schematic for this part outputting 12V
This is what I have R23 is changed to 110K
I'm stepping down form 22V to 12V
My issue is when, I load the DC DC converter with more than 500mA the voltage starts to be pulled down.
Circuit works below 500mA, I need to be operational at least 1A.
My understanding is thtat this is a 1.5A current handling
Please advise what could I be missing?

Thank you for sharing the layout.
Can you take some waveforms of Vsw, Vin, and Vout during this condition?
Is the device heating up during this condition?
For the layout, the ground connection should ideally pass through the bottom of the IC as shown in the layout example:
In your design, this is making the VCC ground loop longer. You could also rotate the VC capacitor 180-degrees such that the ground connection is on the same GND polygon as the IC.
