TPS65130: Abnormal high current drain while no load for TPS65130

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

customer feedback the TPS65130 drains high current while no loading.

They needs to control the ENP signal by MCU.

If tied ENP and PSP then will become normal.

Attached waveform for ENP and current waveform. FYI.

Please help to check.

Hi Colin,

Please find the attached file for schematics.

About the INP waveform, it is not available now since there is no oscilloscope on hand for customer.

Please help to check if there is anything wrong with the schematics first?

Hi Colin,

The R208, R213, and C208 are tied together.

Besides, customer also did some experiment to enable ENP and ENN early that almost follow up with Vin, the current will decrease.

May I know if there is any power sequence requirement for Vin and ENP/ENN?

I guess there may be some leakage current flow from VIN to load before enable.

Did customer test with load or no load?

Hi Peter，

I checked and found that this inrush current is normal when the EN is later than VIN. This is because during the enable state, VIN charges the input and output capacitors. Since VIN is higher, the current is also higher. If the EN value is earlier than VIN, VIN will rise from 0 to a higher level during the enable state, so the current charging the input and output capacitors is smaller.
