Hi,
I have quarried the evaluation board for TPSM63606.
I intend to use it with 30V input and 12V output. My first try was a hot-plug of 30V of input voltage. It seemed to have been destroyed from this.
I guess it is a transient response from wires and input capacitance. I acquired a new board and ramp up the input slowly and this time it worked...of course.
My question is what do you recommend to come around this issue where I cannot ramp up the input slowly:
1. Is it to use some resistance in series with the input capacitor?
2. Use a TVS on the input?
3. Have an external soft start circuit that ramps up slowly?
Or something completely different.
