LM74610-Q1: LM74610

Part Number: LM74610-Q1

Tool/software:

 Hi.

Currently I use Schottkey diodes in series with batteries series group in order to combine power of few groups together and protect from reverse current

Each diode Anode is separattaly connected to one battery group and all diodes Cathode are connected together

As shown in my schematics

Now, in order to conserve power I want to use the LM74610 instead of each diode.

Will it share the power well? There may be small difference between each battery group

  • Hi Ran,

There is not active power sharing feature. Whatever power will be shared will be based on natural path impedances.

Also, you can consider LM74700 for 100 percent duty cycle operation.

  • Thanks for your prompt reply

I cannot tollerate leakage current. Therfore, float "diode" was required. Thats the reason to pick the LM74610

I thought that it will naturally combine battery powers since when FETs are being heated they share currents

Was I wrong in this assumption?

Maybe you have PSPICE model of the part?

    Thanks again

  • Hi Ran,

LM74610 can be used as well. Current sharing is not guaranteed though.

If the supply voltages have mismatch, current sharing may not happen, and the highest supply will power the entire load.
