TPS543C20: Lead over threshold

Part Number: TPS543C20
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS548B22, , TPS546B25, TPS546E25, TPS548D26

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

It is found that the part TPS543C20RVFT has Lead over threshold. Please confirm if this is true and provide alternate part which has SVHC below threshold.

Regards,
Kaushal

Yes, the TPS543C20RVFT is RoHS Exempt under exemption 7a and REACH affected.  These devices use the same packaging technology.

As with your inquiry about the TPS548B22, we need to know your application needs to be able to recommend an alternative solution.

    VIN

    Vout

    Load Current

Also, the TPS548B22 uses TI's D-CAP3 control architecture, which uses frequency stabilized Constant On-time (COT) control, which is a pulse-frequency modulation scheme which can not be synchronized, while the TPS543C20 uses edge synchronized fixed frequency advanced current mode control.

Does your application require one or the other of these control topologies?  I want to make sure we can recommend the best part for your application.

Additionally, in your other thread, you stated that the 5mm x 6mm TPS546B25 was "Too Big" for your application despite being smaller than the TPS548B22 or TPS543C20, which are both 5mm x 7mm.  Is there a maximum size that you can use in your application?

  • Hi Peter,

    In this case

    VIN- 5V

Vout- 0.7V to 0.8V (based on different application)

    Load Current- 37A

Does your application require one or the other of these control topologies?  I want to make sure we can recommend the best part for your application.

No, not required with these topologies, but we need SENSE feature in the regulator

For 5V to 0.7V or 0.8V @ 37A, I would recommend looking at the TPS548D26 or TPS546E25.  Both offer remote sense and can support the 37A current level.
