LP3943: i2c data hold time requirement

Hi Sir,

would like to check with you about the “Data hold time” requirement on LP3943.
Base on I2C standard version 7, the “Data hold time” just meet 0us, not 300ns.

Is the “Data hold time” requirement on LP3943 correct or not?
customer think can’t meet the timing requirement in current design (120ns), do you have any idea to fix this issue?

but if we look at the LP5018 datasheet, it is marked 0nS, why is there such big difference?

Hi Tommy,

Sorry for the late reply, I tried to test I2C communication by USB2ANY, but the data hold time for USB2ANY is uneditable and bigger than 300ns. I will try to ask designer about this question. Anyway, we recommend following the spec in datasheet. I’m wondering why the 120ns data hold time in current design is fixed.? Does the host is not mcu? We can move to email to discuss this case.
