Maybe I should open a new thread, but in the spreadsheet a junction temperature is calculated of 64 degrees.

Under what circumstance is that? I have the demo board and with the shown input voltage (30V) and output voltage (12V) and current (3A), the junction temperature is much higher at 81 degrees measured with a FLIR.

I suspect that the excel sheet will not be able to model the exact environment condition and so you see a difference in excel result and actual measurement.
