Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25756, LM51770
Tool/software:
Hello!
We are designing a medical device (Bio Console) and are in the phase of choosing the power supply ICs.
The power supply directives for the equipment are:
-
Primary power supply of 27V (VIN)
-
LiFePO4 25.9V 7S battery with a charging current of ~2A
-
Power path between the primary supply and the battery
-
Charge the battery
-
Power an FOC motor drive (24V 1A) with peaks up to 3A
-
Power the system with 12V, 5V, and 3.3V (uP, lcd-tft, sensors) at ~25W
For battery charging/power path, I have researched the BQ25750, BQ25850 + LM51770, or BQ25756 + LM51770.
For the 12V, the TPS54438RQFR.
My questions are:
-
I don't understand how the BQ25750's boost function defines the 24V output voltage.
-
Would the BQ25756 (without the power path) be efficient in switching between the primary supply and the battery?
-
Are there any certifications for these ICs?
I would appreciate your guidance.
