BQ25750: Help to choose charger

Part Number: BQ25750
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25756, LM51770

Tool/software:

Hello!

We are designing a medical device (Bio Console) and are in the phase of choosing the power supply ICs.

The power supply directives for the equipment are:

  • Primary power supply of 27V (VIN)

  • LiFePO4 25.9V 7S battery with a charging current of ~2A

  • Power path between the primary supply and the battery

  • Charge the battery

  • Power an FOC motor drive (24V 1A) with peaks up to 3A

  • Power the system with 12V, 5V, and 3.3V (uP, lcd-tft, sensors) at ~25W

For battery charging/power path, I have researched the BQ25750, BQ25850 + LM51770, or BQ25756 + LM51770.

For the 12V, the TPS54438RQFR.

My questions are:

  • I don't understand how the BQ25750's boost function defines the 24V output voltage.

  • Would the BQ25756 (without the power path) be efficient in switching between the primary supply and the battery?

  • Are there any certifications for these ICs?

I would appreciate your guidance.
