TPS65994AE: Firmware and Provisioning Tool

TPS65994AE is not recommended for any new design.

Are you looking to pass compliance on this? What is the end application here?

Our current revision prototype uses the TPS65994AE in conjunction with the ASMedia ASM4242 USB4 host controller.  This was chosen since it was based off of the ASMedia reference design to initially vet their USB4 controller.  While our plan is to upgrade the power delivery controller on the next revision of our board, the current revision has the TPS65994AE and we'd like to get the full system working on our bench before running our next revision.

We have been working with ASMedia on ASM4242 and to my knowledge it is using TPS65988DK. Can you contact ASMedia to double check on the device recommendation?

Hi Tommy,

Yes, I will reach out to ASMedia again to double check on their new power delivery controller recommendations for our next revision.  However, when we first started the project, their compatible USB PD controllers list recommended the TPS65994AE and it was what was used in their reference design schematic, so that's what we went with as well.  Now that we have prototype boards fabricated, I would like to work on standing the ASM4242 up in our BSP.  To do that though, I need the firmware for the TPS65994AE and any supporting documentation on the flashing/provisioning process.

No, I do not have a local TI FAE contact, which is the reason I came to this support forum.  Are you able to put me in contact with someone?  If so, that would be greatly appreciated.  An NDA is no problem and I can get that executed quickly on my end.  I assume that would be done through the FAE you put me in touch with?
