Tool/software:

Hi,

Does TI have PD can support 802.3at Type2 POE+    25.5W solution? thanks!

Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

    Thanks for reaching out.

For 25.5W 802.3at Type2 PD, we have following recommendations:

    1. TPS23731/4 (PD + PWM controller), newest:

    • Compliance to IEEE 802.3bt and 802.3at
    • 0.3-Ohm typ. hotswap
    • TPS23731 supports flyback; TPS23734 supports flyback/ACF (both have internal error amplifier, can be configured to low side SW Buck converter)
    • Support primary side regulation (no need for OPTO feedback)
    • Support auto maintain power signature
    • Programmable frequency dithering for EMI
    • Support soft-stop
    • Support adapter priority
    • VSON45 (7mm x 5mm)

    2. TPS23754/6 (PD + PWM controller):

    • Compliance to IEEE 802.3at
    • 0.5-Ohm typ. hotswap
    • TPS23754 has 15-V Vc UVLO; TPS23756 has 9-V Vc UVLO(used for low-voltage DC adapter case).
    • Both support flyback/ACF-active clamping forward (no internal error amplifier for both)
    • Support adapter priority & low voltage PD input
    • HTSSOP20 (6.5mm x 4.4mm)

    3. TPS23751/2 (PD + PWM controller):

    • Compliance to IEEE 802.3at
    • 0.5-Ohm typ. hotswap
    • Flyback with secondary side regulation only (no internal error amplifier)
    • Sleep mode (disable DC/DC, TPS23752 only) and high efficiency light load mode (automatically reduce switching frequency at light load)
    • Support adapter priority
    • TPS23751: TSSOP16 (5mm x 4.4mm)
    • TPS23752: TSSOP20 (6.5mm x 4.4mm)

    4. TPS2378/9 (PD only):

    • Compliance to IEEE 802.3at
    • 0.5-Ohm typ. hotswap
    • TPS2378 has adapter higher priority, TPS2379 has gate pin to drive an external hotswap
    • HSOP8 (4.89mm x 3.9mm)

Please let me know for any questions.

    Best regards,

    Zhining
