TLVH431B: Looking for Vref deviation from -55C to 125C

Part Number: TLVH431B

Tool/software:

I've got a circuit where I'm using a TLVH431BMDBZREP to generate a 6.3V reference between -55C and 125C.

I'm looking for a spice model that includes the temperature relationship.

If that's not available how can I calculate the Vref deviation over temp?  The αVref equation is confusing.

We're seeing voltage deviations on 4 units over temp:

unit # -55C 25C 125C
1 6.308 6.32 6.318
2 6.307 6.312 6.305
3 6.297 6.306 6.304
4 6.304 6.32 6.318

Schematic below:

  • Hello,

The total temperature drift from -55°C to 125°C will be less than 31mV, which your measurements for units 1 through 4 meet. Please consider this section of the datasheet:

It seems like the largest drift you are seeing is on unit 4, which has a drift of 16mV--much less than the max in the datasheet of 31 mV.

We do not have a spice model available for this part.

What is the temperature drift specification that you are trying to meet?

Additionally, your load capacitor of 100nF does not typically offer the best phase margin as seen in figures 20-22 in the datasheet. I recommend a different value for C23.

    Thanks,

    Jackson

  • Jackson,

We chose 100nF based on the datasheet.  Section 9.2.2 Shunt Regulator/Reference used a 100nF load cap.

  • HI John,

I will look into the datasheet question, thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Do you have any remaining questions?

    Thanks,

    Jackson
