Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54719
Tool/software:
Hello TI Support Team,
I am working with the TPS54719 buck converter and have been analyzing the reference design (TPS54719EVM-152) schematic. I have a few questions regarding the components in the voltage divider and output section.
I understand that R9 and R10 form the voltage divider to set the output voltage. However, I am seeking clarification on the precise purpose of the following components:
-
Resistor R8 (51.1 Ω): What is the fundamental purpose of this resistor? It appears to be in the output path, but I am unsure of its specific function. Is it used for current sensing or another purpose?
-
Capacitor C11 (270 pF): This capacitor is placed in parallel with R9. What is its role? Is it for phase compensation, noise filtering, or a different function related to stability?
Finally, I would like to use this circuit for a new application with the following parameters:
-
Vin = 3.8 V
-
Vout = 3.3 V
-
Iout = 5 A
Could you please confirm if this circuit design is suitable for these parameters and provide guidance on how I should adjust the values of R9 and R10 to achieve the desired 3.3 V output?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Javaid
