BQ4050: Sleep current is to high

Hi,

we are using the BQ4050 in a project.

We have now noticed that the current consumption in sleep mode (240 µA at 14.4 V) is higher than the value specified in the data sheet (75 µA).

I measured the average power consumption of the electronics. Only the BQ4050 is mounted and is used for a 4S1P battery.

Can you help me find the reason for this?

Hi all,

We have now determined during circuit design that reverse protection has an impact on power consumption.
If we remove the FET for reverse protection, power consumption in sleep mode drops to approx. 100µA.
In addition to this, in normal mode we have a power consumption of 500µA with reverse protection and approx. 300µA without.
