LM22676: LM22676 Based Inverting Regulator Vout: -5V and Vin: +24V

Part Number: LM22676

Tool/software:

Will this circuit work for a Vin of +24V?

Also, what is the difference between LM22676-Q1 and LM22676

Thank you.

Regards,

Vignesh

  • Hi Vignesh,

Yes, it will work for a +24V to -5V conversion. But in an inverting application the inductor current is actually higher than the load current and = (1+|VOUT|/Vin/efficiency)*load

Therefore a 3A device like this one can support around 2.4A for a 24V to -5V conversion. If your load current is within that range, then it will work.

The Q version, LM22676-Q1 typically undergoes more screening compared to the non Q one and is intended for use in automotive applications. Otherwise they are similar.
