UCC14341-Q1: RLIM at Single Output Configuration

Part Number: UCC14341-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear TI-team,
Figure 8-2 in the datasheet states RLIM to be "optional" for a single adjustable output configuration. Does that mean I can just entirely neglect this resistor and leave the output floating, or shut I connect at least something in the kiloohm range to this pin?

Thanks and wish you a nice weekend!
Lukas

  • Lukas,

In single output mode, RLIM is only used to help discharge the output voltage during power down or fault conditions. This means that if you choose to omit RLIM you would leave that pin floating. If you do choose to implement this resistor I recommend filling out the design calculator for your specifications and getting something slightly larger than the minimum value specified for RLIM. For a point of reference the default design in the calculator recommends more than 1K ohm.

    Regards,

    Carter
