Tool/software:

Hi,

We are using TPS3808G01DBVR in our design and want to increase the threshold of RESET IC. Please let me know what will the VIN here?

Note : VDD is 1.8V

Thanks
Sagar

  • Hi Sagar,

VIN is the voltage monitored by TPS3808G01, so it is up to you to set the expected voltage to be monitored. As shown in section 5 of the datasheet, TPS3808G01 has a threshold voltage of 0.405V.

A different threshold can be set using the figure in your original post, with the new threshold being VIT'. To adjust the threshold, the value of R1 and/or R2 can be changed in accordance with the equation given in the figure.

  • Hi

I am driving sense pin one of the power good pin which is having a pull up with 1.8V. is there any possibility to increase the threshold of this GPIO from 0.405V to 0.9V.

    Thanks

    Sagar

  • Sagar,

Yes, the threshold can be adjusted to 0.9V using the equation for VITfrom Figure 8-1:

For VIT' = 0.9V, a possible solution to this equation is with R1 = 111kΩ and R2 = 90.9kΩ. This will set VIT' ≈ 0.9V. Please note that these values should be used for reference purposes only.

Are you able to provide more details on your application? Typically devices like TPS3808 would be used to monitor a voltage supply rail directly, not to monitor digital signals.
