Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2493
Tool/software:
I'm trying to replace a system with a TPS2493 with a TPS2663.
The TPS2493 isn't the problem; I'm trying to reduce the circuit size.
The TPS2493 can be soft-started by connecting a resistor and capacitor in series to the GATE pin.
However, the TPS2663 uses an internal FET, and the related pin isn't connected externally.
So, I'm testing by varying the capacitor capacitance on the dVdT pin.
Our system load characteristics are as follows:
Capacitance: 4,950uF (33uF x 150EA)
Current consumption (typical): 1.5A
Excessive current will initially flow to charge the load's input capacitor.
However, if the configured ILIM (6.04kJ) of 2.94A is exceeded, a fault is triggered.
Would the TPS2663 be unable to handle the load with the above specifications?
