TPS61158: Request for ESD Diode Rating Recommendation – TPS61158DRVR Frontlight Lines

We’ve observed that the FRONTLIGHT_CATHODE line currently lacks ESD protection, and while the FRONTLIGHT_ANODE line includes a 1µF capacitor, we believe additional ESD protection is necessary at both ends.

Could you please recommend suitable ESD diode ratings for both the anode and cathode lines, considering the frontlight driver IC in use is TPS61158DRVR?

We’d appreciate guidance on:

Recommended working and clamping voltages
Unidirectional vs. bidirectional diode preference
Any specific part numbers or footprint constraints to consider

Do you have simplified circuit schematic for better understanding? do you mean the ESD protection on TPS61158 FB pin?

Hi,

Is C269 placed close to VOUT pin? and R254 placed close to FB pin? these two components already can be used as ESD protection device to absorb or damping the ESD energy.

You may add 1pcs 1uF 50V electrolytic cap on VOUT, use R254 in 0805 or larger size

FB pin and VOUT pin also had internal ESD protection with 2KV HBM and 500V CDM.
