TPS25763Q1EVM: Displayport alternate mode pin assignment D

Part Number: TPS25763Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1064

Tool/software:

I am trying to configure the EVM a with pin assignment D for Displayport Alternate Mode.

When configured in pin assignment C, everything is working well but when configured in pin assignment D, the display is detected but nothing is displayed on the screen (tested on Windows with both GPIO or I2C Mux configuration).

Looking at the schematic, everything seems to be fine for pin assignment D.

Any other specific configuration to be done ?

  • Hi Etienne,

What's the assignment? Could you let me know where you find these descriptions?

  • Hi,

The pin assignment is related to alternate mode pin allocation according to VESA standard.

Assignement C is for 4 lanes DP and Assignement D is for 2 lanes DP plus USB 3. TUSB1064 is compatible with assignment C, D and E and assignment support is available in "ALT MODE" panel of TPS257xxQ1 GUI.

When all options are set, the display is detected but nothing is displayed. Then I assume that AUX channel is correctly linked. When Assignment C only is set then the display is working correctly.

What I need is Assignement D with 2 lanes DP and USB 3 simultaneously.

  • Hi Etienne,

Thanks for clarification. The current 25763 EVM is having some unexpected behavior with USB 3.0 data, related to the EVM trace impedance design. The signal integrity of USB 3 may potentially impact the behavior of assignment D.

If the config UFP_pin assignment setting and the HW GPIO/I2C selection is correct and the display is still not working, the above could be the most possible reason.
