UCD90160A: unrecoverable unknown fault

Hello,

On a design with a UCD90160A, I have an unexpected behaviour. The problem occurs approximately once on twenty power-up sequences

Durring power-up phase, an interruptions occured on SMB_Alert#.

After having an interruption on SMB_Alert#, the STATUS_WORD(0x79) register is stuck at 0x0108.

0x0108 correspond to an  unknown fault and an input undervoltage condition.

The input voltage is stable.

Writting the CLEAR command 0x03 don't reset the register. (Using both our microcontroller or TI probe)

In addition, writting a soft reset command 0xDB don't reset the devices, and STATUS_WORD keep is 0x0108 value

Does the soft reset command is supported?

    Hi

    Are you sure it is 0x0108 instead of 0x0801? If it is 0x0801, it cann't be clear since the status is there. 

    Please confirm this with TI fusion GUI and share the project file from the live with the problem present.

    Yes, soft reset command shall reset the device.

    Hi,

    I don't expected the lowest byte is sent first. The status is 0x0801 and it make sense that it can be cleared.
