BQ25185: ILIM/VSET Resistor Values

Looking at Table 8-1 for ILIM and VBATREG Register Map, there are distinct combinations defined to set the operation of the part.

What is the behavior of the part if a value is chosen that isn't listed in the table?

Specifically, say a 10k resistor or a 12k resistor

Thanks for reaching out.

If a resistor value not listed in Table 8-1 is used on the ILIM/VSET pin, the device will still apply one of the available configurations. There aren't any intermediate settings beyond those listed.

How do we know what setting is chosen for an intermediate value?

Does the IC grab the closest setting?

Does it fall back to a default setting?

Hi David,

The device detects the closest setting. For example, if a 12k resistor is used, the device applies the configuration corresponding to the 13k resistor option in Table 8-1.
