Hi
I'm using BQ34Z100-R2 as system side fuel gauge to monitor the charging and discharging current, voltage and SOC and interfacing with MCU through I2C. My battery configuration is 5S1P/ 5S2P Li-ion dumb-pack. I'm having two separate board (one- Charger board with battery and adapter connector, second - Main controller board and fuel gauge along with system). Using this fuel gauge we are using BAT- and Pack- connection with sense resistor. Here I directly connecting the BAT- from battery and Bat- is connected with SRP pin in IC and Pack- is connected with SRN. My sense resistor value is 5m ohm 3W (Since my charge current is 2A, discharge current is 15A). This pack- net is connected with charger IC GND which is also known as SYS GND. so my question are given below:
- Can I connect the SYS ground to Pack- instead of to BAT- ? Because, I'm connecting PACK- to SYS ground. so while interfacing with MCU and Fuel gauge it can be same ground. But in EVM/schematics it is connected with Bat-.
- Since I'm using I2C as communication to MCU (STM32H7 series). If I extracted the golden file using BQstudio with EV2400 based on charge/ discharge cycle. Do I need to use BQstudio and EV2400 board for every boards in production or simply load the golden file from MCU which is generated earlier?
- I don't need HDQ right? since i'm using I2C.
- I simply connect the P1, P2 to VSS if i'm not using the LEDs.
looking forward your support
Thanks
