TPS25981: PG Pin Confusion

Part Number: TPS25981

Tool/software:

We have a customer that is confused with the wording of the datasheet regarding PG pin. The reason the confusion is that all the wording in the datasheet describes this PG pin as being ASSERTED high, although it is described as an open drain in the pin list as well as the block diagram. See pics below.

Since an open drain cannot be ASSERTED high, which is correct behavior? Is it push-pull and actively ASSERTED high like described, or is it open drain and pulled-up passively as indicated in the pin list and block diagram?

This is important because they need to interface it to 1V8 logic.

  • Hi Vincent,

PG pin is open-drain pin so it can only pull down internally and require external pull up. This is clearly mentioned in the datasheet. When using a pull up, kindly maintain the recommended max rating of this pin.

    Best Regards,
