LMG2100EVM-078: Input capacitance

Hello team,

This EVM has 4 pcs of 0.1uF input capacitors, placed close to the VIN pin.

I don't usually see 4pcs of 0.1uF input caps for DCDC converters.

Does GaNFET require more 0.1uF caps than Si based DCDC converters?

    Hi Kuwahara-san, 

    No, there is no set requirement for the total amount of decoupling caps from VIN-GND. This is a value that was chosen for the EVM and has been verified to work without any issue. There is not much difference in decoupling capacitance requirement between Si and GaN.
