TPS25751: The application requirements of chips

Part Number: TPS25751
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS26750

Tool/software:

We originally intended to develop the firmware burning for the EPPROM of the PD TPS25751 chip on the RG650 side.     Then it was found that according to the documentation, the firmware must already be present in the EPPROM before the RG650 module can be used to burn the firmware to the EPPROM on the PD chip.     we need consult TI.     1.     If the EPPROM is not burned, can the EPPROM connected to the PD chip be burned by connecting the main control to the PD chip?     If there is a solution, are there any drivers or applications related to the linux system?

  • Hi Tonyx,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Are you wanting to program an empty EEPROM for the first time or update an existing image on the EEPROM?

The Application Note referenced describes the process on how to update an existing image on the EEPROM, for in-field updates.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi,Aya Khedr

I want to program an empty EEPROM for the first time. The main control chip is connected to the I2Ct of the PD chip. The EPPROM chip is connected to the I2Cc of the PD chip.

    Application Note
TPS25751 and TPS26750 EEPROM Update Over I2C, Is it describing the driver code under Linux system?

  • Hi Henrt,

The process detailed in the Application Note is not applicable for empty EEPROM.

For testing and development, our team uses the Aardvark  along with Flash Center software to program the EEPROM.

For production, we recommend working with your EEPROM distributor on how to flash.

    Best Regards,

    Aya Khedr
