ISO5852S: creepage and clearance

I reviewed the ISO5852 and see that the datasheet has a confusion, as shared below. Please let me know your thoughts.

This ISO5852 is in Standard SOIC-16 package which the minimum distance through air from the drawing inside datasheet between primary-secondary terminals is 7.4mm (which is smaller than 9.1mm requirement).

However, the section 7.6 shows the creepage/clearance number of 14.5mm, which cause confusion.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your question - section 7.6 appears to show incorrect data. The clearance/creepage should be >8mm, which is the same value as shown in the ISO5452 datasheet.

Can we provide values instead of >8mm, >21um and >600V? For example Eaton needs them to put a number greater than 8mm for creepage and clearance for margin.

They also need the ISO5852 datasheet updated with these numbers.

Hello Mike,

Taking a look at ISO5852S-Q1(the automotive variant of ISO5852S). The exact clearance/creepage seems to be 8mm. It should be the same for ISO5852S as they have the same SOIC-16 package size. Also, the ISO5852 datasheet will be updated with the right measurements soon.
