BQ25720: End of charge status indicator

Hi, I notice there isn't status pin on the BQ25720. Perhaps I'm not seeing it, but how do you know when the battery when charge is complete? The CHRG_OK just lets you know that there is power within the correct window to allow charging but it can't be used as a "charge complete" indicator. I don't require high current charging because I am charging 3s and therefore simpler charger design will work just fine but the bummer is there is no status pin. I know there is a way to do this by monitoring the input current and a comparator, but if there is a better way please advise.

    Hi, Jerry,

    Unfortunately, there is no status bit for "charge complete". I would suggest monitoring the battery current (IBAT pin) and compare to an terminal current (user specified).

    Hi Tiger,

    I figured as much and the IBAT current would be the way to go. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing the forest for the trees LOL. I will configure the host processor for the status pin and use IBAT and power-on as a reference for a "charge complete" LED.
